So I've been talking about this Group Training that I will be starting this year. Have you been wondering exactly what it is and whether it is for you?
Group training in it's essence is training with a group of people ;)
This isn't for everyone. Some people like to train by themselves preferring the solitude.
However if this is not you and you like the idea of training with friends (or making some new ones!) then this could be for you!
Training with friends is a great way to stay motivated and even add a little competition to your workouts.
Having a friend call out "come on!!!" can really help with how hard you push yourself. If, however, you and your friends have in the past been very good at talking each other OUT of things this is where I step in ;) You WILL both/all do it!!!
Training in a small group (we try and limit our groups to 6) means that you get a lot more one on one attention from your trainer as opposed to say a Pump class where there may be up to 70 other people in the room for an instructor to teach. It means you can get your technique perfect as I will be able to correct you where needed and will also be able to push you a little further than you may push yourself in a class as I am not restricted by choreography or the stage ;)
If you are already doing Group fitness classes in the gym GREAT! I still teach them and I still LOVE them :) Doing our type of group training will just add to your fitness regime and perhaps get you quicker results.
If you find big classes intimidating though, our small groups could be just right for you!
Many people also find the idea of one on one personal training intimidating. This is where small group training can be a great solution plus there is the added benefit of it being cheaper.
Training in a small group also means we can do exercises/activities that would simply not be possible in a large group or on one on one.
As far as just what those exercises/activities might be, this will not only change from session to session but also from group to group. The idea is that the training session will be moulded to suit the participants and what their goals are.
I will tell you this though, the only way you get results is by working hard, and you will be working hard I promise! Workouts will generally be based on interval/strength training so you get as much calorie bang for your buck as you can ;) We will train for 45 mins and we will train hard! All you need to bring is a towel and your drink bottle! ALL fitness levels will be catered for.
If losing weight is one of the reasons you would like to join one of my sessions there is the opportunity for you to do a weekly weigh in with your workout. Being held accountable for what is on the scales to someone other than you yourself could be the motivation you need to keep seeing the numbers go down. Also weighing in on the same scales once a week is a healthy and accurate way to track your losses. You will never be belittled, we may just talk about what you can do to help make your loss happen quicker or more consistently. I am big on nutrition and will help you with tips here whether you are trying to lose weight or not, simply so you are looking after your body well :)

Sessions will be $15 each and will be purchased in 10 session blocks, the idea is being that we will run the classes in with the school term. Buying a block of sessions is a financial commitment yes, but it also means you will be committed to your getting your results instead of doing one session then skipping a few because you are tired/it's hot/it's cold/you ate too much/you can't be bothered/you're sore/the dog ate your homework....... ;)
In doing training with me I hope to help remove those excuses/obstacles from your life so that you can train well and consistently. No one is motivated ALL the time but those who get the results train anyway ;)
However, if you miss a session due to sickness/being away etc you will have one make up session allowed, to be used at another session within the same term. If you know you are going to be away for a weeks due something pre arranged such as a holiday but would love to train during the rest of the term we can work something out.
If I have a free spot on any session I will offer it as a casual visit for anyone who would like to join us for $15. I will post these available spot on Facebook.
Sessions will be held at my home gym in Woodvale unless otherwise arranged.
Available sessions at the moment will be:
Monday 9.30 - 10.15am
Tuesday 6.30 - 7.15pm
Tuesday 7.30 - 8.15pm
Thursday 6.30 - 7.30pm
So yes, spots are VERY limited and it will be a first in best dressed situation.
