What has got my cup overflowing?

In my last blog post I talked about why I entered the Lorna Jane Modern Muse competition.
Now I want to share with you what has got my, already half full, cup overflowing!

I have been truly humbled by the support I have received from friends and family, near and far, old and new. The feedback I have received has been beyond what I could have ever hoped for! I was proud of the video entry Deanna and I had put together and Deanna's photos were amazing, but to know that my message has reached so many people, that they have been inspired by my entry, totally rocks my world!!!

I received an email this weekend that tipped my cup over the edge :)
It was a reply that Deanna had sent to one of her friend's and copied me in on.

This lovely friend had seen my video emailed it to some friends saying:

  • Hey Everyone,

Thought I would share a link with you all, to a little video that has recently inspired & motivated me!

My friend De (of Deanna Whyte Photography) joined up with her friend and personal trainer Jennifer Birkhead to create a video entry to the Lorna Jane Modern Muse competition.
Basically the competition works on the number of views/likes and comments the video receives on You Tube. Be warned it is a You Tube clip, so you may not be able to view from your work email, but if you get a chance to view it at home, I think it is worth a look!

Jennifer is a 32 year old mum of 2 young girls, who is passionate about healthy living and inspiring her children, and everyone else, to share her love of living a healthy and fit life, and being the best they can be. She is a fitness professional, blogger, and graphic designer, and she wants to be Lorna Jane's Modern Muse.

Both De and Jennifer make me want to do more and be more everyday. I think they are great role models for women, for people in general, to get the most we can out of life.
    She certainly has my vote!

    Check it out!

She had forwarded it to De with this message:

  • Hey De,

Just want to let you know that I think the video you did is amazing.
    I found it totally inspiring.
I was showing a girl at work today (to explain why I have been so committed with my workouts lately) and within minutes, I had a small crowd around my desk.
A couple of guys asked me to send it to them, so that they can share with their daughters.
They also made mention of how professional it was, they just loved your images. thought you might like to know :)

    Have a great weekend xx

People crowded around a desk? Wanting to share it with their daughters??? WOW!!!!! Seriously, how COOL is that!!?!?!? Totally made my weekend to read these emails. This is someone I have never met! I emailed her to say thanks and her reply was:

  • No worries - just thought you guys deserved to hear some of the feedback :)

It must have flicked a switch, because I have been back into the gym and pilates everyday with a new found motivation.
But more than that, I have started looking into some study that I have always wanted to do, but not had the motivation to pursue (because life was too busy).
It's nice to get a gentle reminder, that life is what you make of it and to make the most of each day.

Will def check out the page! xx

You want to know the really cool thing? This is just one response, there have been so many, including this post from a new friend on my Vivid page :
  • hello Jen,

I am I 17 year old girl from Victoria and i have been previously very active but since being diagnosed with voice box dysfunction (essentially my voice box tries to protect my airways by blocking them off when under pressure - such as during exercise) and have 2 ovarian cysts in 12 months plus doing year 12 this year, i have been struggling to find time to exercise and be active...But. . .

I just saw the YouTube clip that you entered into the lorna jane modern muse and i loved it and it has inspired me to be more like you and make healthy living, eating and activity a priority.

YOU are an inspiration to others..
    Courtney
The competition itself is drawing to a close soon but as corny as it sounds, I already feel like a winner hearing feedback like this. So I would like to say a huge THANK YOU to Lorna Jane for running the Modern Muse competition and therefore giving me a chance to spread the word about healthy living, something that I am so very  passionate about. To win this competition and be given even MORE opportunity to continue doing this on a bigger scale, would be nothing short of phenomenal!! Whatever happens though, I am truly grateful to have reached so many, given them the gentle nudge they may have needed to live a more vivid life. That is what it's all about :)
Here is the vid if you haven't seen it...

    Jen
